Dr. Ruben Pina Ph. D.
Dr. Ruben Pina is a Licensed Psychologist, born and raised in Rio Grande Valley. He earned his Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from St. Mary’s University and acquired his Doctoral Degree at Walden University. Dr. Pina has extensive clinical experience, including 12 years, as a Licensed Professional Counselor and 6 years of clinical experience as a Licensed Psychologist. Dr. Pina is also bilingual and biliteral in order to enhance his clinical and professional services. Dr. Pina’s internship experience was obtained from Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Behavioral Center and Rehabilitation Center. He has significant clinical experience with psychological and neurological testing and psychotherapy. Dr. Pina is currently conducting full psychological evaluations for a variety of demographic groups including Children, Adolescents, Adults, Disability, Immigration, Law Enforcement, and Full Battery Psychological Evaluations. His professional interests and experience include, but are not limited to, the treatment of childhood disorders, including Trauma, ADHD, Behavioral Disorders, Anxiety, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor Extensively experienced, bilingual/bi-literate licensed professional counselor with over twenty-five years of professional clinical experience as a licensed professional counselor. I am currently in private practice in Mission, Texas and have worked with medical and law enforcement agencies in the Rio Grande Valley for the past fifteen years. My clinical caseload consists primarily of children and adolescents (some adults) with emotional and behavioral difficulties, associated with a variety of psychiatric conditions and environmental factors. I have extensive experience in assessing and treating individuals and families with difficult and sensitive issues including, but not limited to, divorce and custody, sexual abuse victimization, conduct and defiant disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, mood disorders etc. I am fully licensed and bonded in the state of Texas. I have also testified as a professional and expert witness in over one hundred civil and criminal court proceedings including custody evaluations, relocation opinions, divorce proceedings and parental termination hearings.
Ms. Sylvia Hernandez MS, LPC-CART (Certified Anger Resolution Therapist) I am a professional counselor licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. My counseling services address concerns or issues including, but not limited to: trauma, grief, anxiety disorders, depression, stress and anger management, child behavioral issues, life transitions, problems of daily living and relational issues.
Dr. Maria Esmeralda Garza Ph.D. Provisional Licensed Psychologist Maria Esmeralda Garza was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Esmeralda attended the University of Texas-Pan American and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling. She went on to complete her Ph.D. Degree with Walden University in Clinical Psychology. As a former educator, she knows the challenges students and teachers face daily with their everyday instructional challenges. She is currently supervised by Dr. Ruben Pina Ph.D.
Ms. Ana Gomez MS, LPC-is an extensively experienced clinician. She has vast clinical experience with adolescents and adult. Mrs. Gomez is primarily a Cognitive Behavioral therapist and has demonstrated her clinical ability to assisting those she treats in improving the quality of their lives.
Lyna Campos is currently working as a psychometrist. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from UTRGV and holds an M.S. in Applied Psychology. She is currently studying for the licensure exam to become a Licensed Psychologist. Upon licensure, she would like to specialize in psychological evaluations for law enforcement and individuals with neurocognitive disorders. She is currently being supervised by Dr. Ruben Pina.
Ms. Violeta Diaz M.ED. LPC is a vastly experienced clinician with many years’ experience as a school counselor and a private practice clinician. Her experience in public schools has fully prepared her with the clinical abilities to assist young children, families, and adults in improving in life quality, behavior, and emotional improvement. Ms. Diaz is primarily a play therapist but also practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ms. Diaz is a certified Trauma Cognitive Behavioral Therapist.
Priscilla G. Rodriguez is currently a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA). She is a graduate from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. She completed her internship at Pina Psychological Associates where she gained experience and training to assess the child and youth populations. She is currently being supervised by Dr. Ruben Pina.
Ms. Janie Ruiz MS, LPC is an experienced clinician whose professional experience comes from being a counselor for several years. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Ms. Ruiz treats school age children and adults with all types of issues, such as stress, depression and anxiety.
Pearl Cano was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. She has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from The University of Texas-Pan American and a Master of Science in psychology from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. Pearl has completed her Predoctoral
Veronica Salinas received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2013. She also received her Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2016. Ms. Salinas is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. She completed her predoctoral internship.
Irma Perez is currently a Pre Doctoral Intern And Licensed Professional Counselor. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. Irma earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, has a Masters's Degree in Education Guidance and Counseling from UTB RGV, and a Master's of Science in Psychology from Walden University. Her Goal Is to become a Licensed Psychologist specializing in psychological evaluations.
Dr. Janene Israel is completing her second Ph.D., this one in Clinical Psychology with a Depth psychological perspective, at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpenteria, California. She is well versed in both Freudian and Jungian thought and prefers a Relational Analytic style in her clinical work. As her coursework has concluded, she is fulfilling her internship and residency hours for Texas licensure. She works compassionately with older adolescents, adults, and couples. She specializes in addressing eating disorders, self-harming behaviors and addictions, PTSD in veterans, and reproductive issues including post-partum depression. She offers infant-parent psychotherapy and Infant Massage training for new parents. paragraph.
Irisha Flores M.S. Licensed Professional Counselor. Irisha is passionate about empowering individuals to be the best version of themselves. She has many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in different settings such as schools and a behavioral health hospital. She has worked with special needs individuals as well as students in youth justice programs. Irisha strives to increase self-awareness, and the mental and emotional well-being of all the individuals she services. She is dedicated to helping individuals cope with anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and other life obstacles.
